original title: HP Deskjet 930C
The Driver Update Tool – is a utility that contains more than 27 million official drivers for all hardware, including hp deskjet 930c/932c/935c driver.
Hello. So I'm trying to get my HP DeskJet 930C Printer to work with Windows 7 (the 64-bit version). I'm a fairly technical individual and I can't get this thing to work for the life of me.
First I've tried going to HP.com for support and essentially all their documentation says that the driver is included in Windows and there is nothing they can provide. So that's not all that helpful.
Second thing I tried was searching the internet for solutions to this problem and so far I can't find anything of value to my specific problem. I tried to download the drivers directly from Microsoft (which with some looking I was able to locate), however my computer won't install them.
What Happens -
When the printer is connected, Microsoft goes through its new hardware detection process, at the end of it, it essentially says 'Device driver software was not successfully installed.' Then I've attempted to install it manually numerous times.
If I go to Printers and Devices and attempt to install a New Printer, select USB as the port, the program says 'Windows detected that a driver is already installed for this device.' It then gives me two options, either keep the existing driver or replace it. Regardless of either option I chose I get the same error before it successfully installs: 'Unable to install printer. Double check the printer name and make sure the printer is connected to the network.' I find this odd since I'm installing a local printer, but you know.
The next step to try based on all the documentation and notes I find on the internet is to try and update the driver using Windows Update. Impressively, Windows Update actually does realize I'm not using the best solution and automatically tries to install the new 11.6 Mb driver. However it fails to update. In the Windows Update section under Update History it says that the 'Driver Update for HP Deskjet 930C/932C/935C' has failed. Clicking on this notation brings up the error code 80070709. The help button, 'Get help with this error' renders nothing useful.
However a search on the internet regarding 'Windows Update Error 80070709' does reveal the error seems to point with a naming problem with the printer. However I'm not sure how to edit this as the printer doesn't really give me an option at any point to fix the naming issues. However the above errors I recieved in trying to manually add the printer also point to a naming issue so that is probably the root problem.
Anyone have any ideas how to fix it?
